Supposed to snow this weekend..

Say 4-8 inches, maybe 8-12 said another place, and the heater hose blew out on my 77 c10, great, Right at the intake manifold, i swear if a cop tried to pull me over on my way home from work he might try to get me with evading the police because i deployed a smokescreen. Luckily im only five minutes of highway driving away from work, never overheated enough to have lost alot of coolant, i had to turn the heater and defrost off to not get as much coolant drawn though the hose, so windows were getting a little foggy since it was raining.

Anybody else have any goals of what they wanna get done this weekend? Not really a what did you do, more of what would you like to get done thread.

I have to go meet my buddy and pick up some parts. After that I hope to get a garage door opener hung so my daughter can park inside.

I just got a new cam to put in the vortec BB, but unfortunately I have a long list of 'honey-do's' to get through before I can work on the truck.

Re: Supposed to snow this weekend..

Hasn't started to snow here in Wichita but wind is blowing like hell.Wweather guessers can't get together on the amounts,......2-4/ 6-8 or 12+. Hate winter. Supposed to head out in the morning to Pratt, Ks. (90 mi. west) to pick up a Grandfather clock given to my wife by her Aunt and Uncle. They are moving to a assisted living facility and have no room for it. Not sure how old it is but it is really a great looking clock. 86" tall which won't fit in our Tahoe ( miss my ol' '91 Burb) without removing the front passenger side bucket seat and laying the right side center seat down . Wife will sit behind in the remaining center seat and give instructions. LOL Did I mention I hate winter?

Yo! Walts!

FRANKENTRUCK had to get me home through the drifts yesterday about noon. Accumulated 12" at my place yesterday and last night, it's headed your way this morning. Todd.

Its that bad? great, my trucks down too. haven't had a chance to fix the heater hose yet. If tis not that bad, i may just try to rim the hose, and put it back on temporarily. Guess i need to throw my sandbags back in too.

Re: Supposed to snow this weekend..

Yo! We had lots of ice form, and then it was covered by blowing snow (it WAS one of our famous ("infamous"?) upslopes, so it may not blast you all like Colorado gets it). 30 car pileup I-25 at the Wyo. border. Another at I-76 and I-270 that ALSO caused a 20 car pileup on the opposite side of the highway (wonder if the "rubber-neckers" caused that, eyeballing the other pileup)! Todd.

I lived in CS for a couple of years and we dodged all the 'Albuquerque Low's. Living in Utah now and the only 2 months of the year that I haven't seen snow are July and August. We just got a couple of inches yesterday so the junkyards will be nothing but mud this weekend.
I don't mind mud; I grew up on a farm. It's just that falling onto various and sundry car parts is not my idea of fun.

We do need the snow though. That's where all our water for the summer comes from.

Re: Supposed to snow this weekend..

Don't have much planned for the weekend supposed to snow here tomorrow. My wife and I are still waiting to close on our house, should finally happen on monday.
I have all next week off work so I may be spending it moving as long as it doesn't rain to much next week.

MMmmmmm. That looks good!

We had chili last night in honor of the show. Probably not up to Texas standards but it's pretty good. (3lbs of browned hburger, 2 cans of rotel, 2 big cans of tomato sauce, 3 big cans of seasoned chili beans, a teaspoon of beef bullion, chili powder, cayenne pepper. Let it simmer for an hour or so. Real quick and easy.)

FRANKENTRUCK made it this far into this drift before the non-posi axles began spinning a tire on each axle and allowed it come to a stop. Nothing smaller would slow it's progress! Ten minutes with the coal shovel, and I backed it right out.
It was my trucks' first play in deep snow. It performed impressively,...nice to see in something that I built from scratch!

Re: Supposed to snow this weekend..

If you guys get hit like we did just stay home! My normal 40 minute drive home from work took 2 1/2 hours. It sucked! And of course, because it's Colorado...Half the 10-12" are already gone.

Re: Supposed to snow this weekend..

Nothing but ice. just got the cab of the truck thawed out and ran my sister to town, work later. Im gonna tie off a canvas over my truck cab since its supposed to keep snowing. GOt the heater hose fixed yesterday. started leaking at the firewall after i drove it, but then moved the hose closer to the firewall, retightened, and its fine now.

I hate this ice. Snows not much better. Im hoping for sunshine so i can get the camaro done.

Yo! Walts!
Clear and warmer temps heading your way right now! Near forty here yesterday and today. Supposed to be windy and in the upper 60s here tomorrow. Careful navigating the ice on your way to work!
