Which paint?

If there is any paint guys out there i'm trying to figure something out. The paint supply place says i have 2 choices for a single stage paint in the 518 Med Green color code, (altho they say its now called Meadow Green).

One is a DCC that is a Urethane base, the other is Delstar that is an acrylic Enamel base, my main goal after laying down some K2 primer is to paint the inner kick panels, floor after repair, and the door jambs and the inner part of the front fender at the top where you see the color. They said whatever i choose the rest of the truck will have to be painted with the same paint...

Which paint should i choose? does it matter?

I am assuming that the original paint is Single Stage so this is why i'm at these 2 choices, this is not a show truck.

Re: Which paint?

Urethane is shinier, tougher, more UV stable, easier to repair so it's clearly the only option to consider.

Don't get hung up on color names. They are only names.

It really doesn't matter what the original paint was as its "not a show truck".

Post some pis...we like pics.

Re: Which paint?

Thanks for the answers, it seems to be a consensus in both places i asked the question.

Have another little problem, this is PPG DP50lf primer and DP402lf activator, i need to try and figure out if this splatter is from my gun/paint or if it dust/moisture? I did strain the paint. Any ideas appreciated.

My air system from my air compressor to the paint gun is as follows:

--->Compressor, manifold, 2 water oil separators, 100' of air hose, 1 inline air descant dryer, 50' hose paint gun.

Re: Which paint?

Have you read this?
http://www.myrv14.com/buildlog/20160...rimer-9-13.pdf

It is chalk full of valuable information .

Hard to say what your problem is (with the debris) but my guess it's equipment related. Too little pressure? Gun set up? Gun cleanliness is where I'd start looking for a cause. Your gun can never be too clean.

I noticed you have a week to get it painted or you will have to sand that primer. Be sure to follow that sheet to the letter. There are other epoxy primers on the market that allow you to have far more time between epoxy and paint.
