Lowering My 1972 C10

I have a 72 C10 and I'm looking at lowering my truck. I've done some reading and was wondering if I should go to a 2.5 or 3 in drop spindle? Not sure if I'll have to do any grinding with a 3 in drop. I would love to do the 3 personally and plan on doing springs later as well but I'm not too happy with grinding anything down unless its minor. Also on the rear end, how low until you have to notch the frame?

I'm running 15x10's now, but have a pair of 15x8's (fronts) I can put tires on if need be. I'm all for function and the lower I can go with the spindle the best IMO.

**NOTE: I plan on looking into upgrading my current stock disk brakes in the future.
