Built 327 Exhaust Recomendations
I have a built 327 in my 61 Panel. Right now it has full length headers with turndowns. I want to get it quiet enough to drive the family around in, without loosing too much HP. I was thinking of running 2-1/2 inch thrush glass packs into some 2-1/2 inch mufflers and then turndown before the axle.
Can anyone suggest a muffler that would be "quiet"? Im hoping to spend around $50 each if possible. Here is a video of my 327 now: http://youtu.be/zTUXR2GXCW0 |

Re: Built 327 Exhaust Recomendations
You want it quiet run 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch to a pair of dynamax turbos before the axle and then some tail pipes out past the bumper.
You might think you'd loose some hp but with some more timing in that motor you'll not loose a thing. |

Re: Built 327 Exhaust Recomendations
Agree, 2 1/4 would be plenty...but 2 1/2 wont hurt. The dyno max mufflers are a little outdated, but do flow vary well! The only thing I have to add, is for performance, use the 14" body muffs & add an H-pipe to the system. longhorn

Re: Built 327 Exhaust Recomendations
If you want to keep the interior noise reasonable, you will want to run your exhaust all the way to the rear bumper. Even then it is going to be loud, but much better than if you dump it under the Panel. Your budget of $50 mufflers doesn't give you much to choose from in quiet mufflers. The DynoMax turbo mufflers and an H pipe is a good suggestion.
