Hugger Orange

My Blazer is apart now, sanded and really close to paint. I want to go Hugger Orange. Both the guy at the local store and a company on-line both asked for the GM paint code. I looked up 10-12 GM paint code threads on here and there are several colors of Hugger Orange.

GM Codes 516 and 524 are listed as Hugger Orange on different model years. There is even a GM Code 72 for the Camaros and Chevelles that is called Hugger orange. I seen a two tone truck listed as white/orange/white as 594.

If there are pics of "orange trucks/blazers/Camaros/Chevelles that list the correlating GM code and maybe even the brand name it will be greatly appreciated.

Struggling with finding the orange that I have seen before but can't put it to a code/brand.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hugger Orange

Any pics? I am looking for more of the orange in the Hugger Orange and I am thinking 516 will be the color but have seen a few of the Camaros with the GM code 72 that are what I have in my head as Hugger Orange.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hugger Orange

Thanks. I can see that when it is on the truck but I struggle with just using the paint code color sheets.

Even the cast models some of the paint companies use throw me at times.

Thanks again.

Re: Hugger Orange

You may spend a bit more. But I suggest you spend money on small samples and do a spray out of the colors. I ordered the stock med blue color for my truck and did not like it, did not use. A lot of wasted money. The shops can order just a few ounces for the spray out.

Re: Hugger Orange

Another member suggested the same. I went to our local store (bought out by CarQuest then to Advance Auto from there) and instead of talking to a paint guy I dealt with a young kid who knew less about paint than me (and that says a lot based on my limited knowledge). If it did not pop up on the screen then is simply does not exist.

He said they did not offer any type of spray outs and his smallest can was a quart. (although there were pint cans everywhere).

I called about two towns over and found a 'paint guy'. I am going Monday and he said he would do spray outs there at the store and he could show me the Hugger Orange he was painting in the 70's.

So Monday I should be on a color that suits me.

If you have a local store with a paint guy, consider yourself lucky (especially if your knowledge is limited like mine)
