Removal of Clutch pedal?

Hey I need to get rid of my clutch pedal and can't get it to come off. I have it pushed as far as it will go but the edge of it is hitting the firewall. Do I need to get the BFH and clearance the firewall or is there another way?
Thanks

Re: Removal of Clutch pedal?

Once the spring is off, it should slide out of the mount

Re: Removal of Clutch pedal?

I tried to do this the lazy way. cut off wheel, and leave the rest. After I got over being a hack, it came right out. My guess is that if you cut the pedal as hight as you can, then you will get the swing room to remove it. I just finished a 3 on the tree to 700r4 conversion. Hope this helps

Re: Removal of Clutch pedal?

i just climbed into my cab (no seats in it)
and pushed my clutch in with my hand (ate a good lunch)
and the top of the pedal (where you removed the spring from), clears that "hump" you pointed at, by an 1/2 ' .....It should come out.

Re: Removal of Clutch pedal?

I'm going to have to take a hammer to that hump, because Ive tried everything and it still won't clear.... Or maybe I'll cut it off. What is the best way to cut it off?

Re: Removal of Clutch pedal?

Dude,
Dont bust up your truck, you'll regret it. If you have to remove the support or just cut the pedal with a grinder or dremel

Re: Removal of Clutch pedal?

Thanks for that advice, I really don't want to hit it with a hammer either. A cut off wheel would be best to cut it?

Re: Removal of Clutch pedal?

I have NEVER had one that would slide out and clear that hump- so I just wack the pedal off with a cutoff wheel- takes a whole minute

You can dampen an old towel to protect your carpet, and throw it away when you are done
