Ive been scouting for a 67+ shorty. Ive looked at a couple and it seems almost all of them have the cab supports rusted out on them, the rockers and some of the floor...The cab was sagging on one truck because they were so rotted...Would you say these trucks are going to be too much work? Just trying to get some input, i know people have built tons of em. This is going to be my first, i plan on stripping everything and blasting it so keep that in mind...tell me what you guy think...thanks for the help.

i think it's well worth the money to buy a good solid near rustfree vehicle from the desert states verses weld and patch vehicles

A nice truck that costs 3-5K initially will be CHEAPER to restore than a $500 rust bucket.

yea, thats what i figured everyone would say...dude was wanting $2300. for one with a powder coated frame,no motor, no tranny, the cab had some pretty good rust going on underneath...and the bed looked like it was going to be a huge project itself...I guess ill just keep looking...

Don't give up

I'm originally from southwest NY and even 10 years ago when I was looking for a "hot rod" to drive to HS I remember that all the 67-72's up there were shot back then. My '67 was from SC and it was originally from Texas (kinda funny that I've been living in SC for 7 years now). Mostly rust free. I'm glad I waited and bought a better truck. There's SO many of these trucks out there still you'll find a good one somewhere.
