Okay, I don't have pics yet but I did make some more progress...

Okay, here's the deal...i'm a cheap bastard and would rather spend money on parts than batteries for my camera. With that being said I guess you can probably already tell what I did and didn't do this weekend. If you don't already know I recently got my 71 K5 started with it's brand new engine. I finished the break in on it and right before I went to drive it, it died on me. My MSD 6A box took a big dump on me and I decided to pull the Pro-Billet distributor and replace it all with a HEI set-up (Critter's the one who gave me the idea). So yesterday I bought the new distributor and some 10 guage wire and an in-line fuse holder and got my blazer running again but this time with an all new ignition system. So for the first time in almost two years I drove my blazer yesterday. I was a little nervous at first but I took off to the gas station, filled up the tires and gas tank and was on my way (open headers mind you) and cruised around loop 1604 for about 45 minutes . Then later on in the evening I took my brothers to the movies and dinner with my uncle following us in his TJ. I probably put around 70 miles on it yesterday and then this morning I hooked up the tach and regreased the u-joints and headed off to the exhaust shop. A couple hours later my blazer sounded a little better with 2 1/4 inch dual exhaust and 40 series flowmasters. I went 2 1/4 to try and get as much torque as possible and it made it run a lot better. My acceleration increased considerably and it sounds real good, not loud, but good. I've had only one problem with the new engine and that's the water pump, the shaft wobbles like crazy and stretches out the belts and makes them loose and come off so I made use of my warranty and picked up another one and just got finished with that a few minutes ago.

Long story short (guess not since I already told the whole damn story) I had a great weekend.

You said it, not us! We've had a blast. I'm glad J finaly got his up and going. I'm sure he was tired of living vicariously through me! It's nice to work with others, plus you get to watch the other guy spend money instead of yourself!

If I can figure it out, i'll get a sound clip of it. It's surprisingly quiet. As for you Blizz, you need to get on it. Critter and I will be taking ours for a cruise probably tomorrow night or maybe later in the week. You gotta catch up!

Last time I checked Critter and I both have pretty significant rust so don't use that as an excuse. I can't speak for Critter but i'm always willing to lend a hand helping out, but I bet Critter won't have a problem either.

Yeah, we have alot of fun. You get more work done when there is someone hanging around to motivate you. I actually don't have a camera either, but I borrow the girlfriend's when she isn't looking. I wouldn't necessarily call Jtrux a cheap bastard; he’s just broke from wasting money. He has a bad habit of buying everything at least 2 times…engines, accessory mounts, ignitions systems…

I think of my rust holes as custom ventilation openings. We are always glad to help. I have a feeling that Blizz is going to find out that his K5 is in better shape than he thinks, especially after he sees mine!

With what Blizz said he needs to get his running, I think it would take about an hour to get that bad boy road worthy. Oh and you don't need turn signals to drive on the road, just ask Critter.

For some reason I thought they didn't work. I just threw them into the category of everything else on your truck: BROKEN!
