I had fun painting them. Can't wait to get them back on the truck, of course, after the job is done.

Thanks for posting the picture of them! Did you use Testors paint? (model paint) or.....

My badges need a good cleaning and painting, so now I know what looks good

Yeah, I bought some cheap enamel model paint for the red. The best way to do the black lettering and background (1500 V-EIGHT area) is to cover with masking tape then cut out the bits you want to paint. Then spray with gloss black enamel.

Little trick we use in the body shop is to paint the part of the emblem you want black,black. And then take a towel moistened with thinner and wipe off the top. This works especially well if you are pinched for time and don't want to cut out all the letters.
