Hood

I think I read that the hinges have an effect on 56 hood.I have one with two crevisesin it.They arent rusted but inverted it.
I though I read somewhere it had to do with hood hinges.I would hate to have body done and have trouble there

Re: Hood

What I was asking is if the improper hinges would put dimples in hood as i have two recesses and I believe I read about here somewhere. They are not rust holes.I just dont want to put filler in and watch it pop out again

Re: Hood

your question still doesnt really make sense

What hinges, where is the damage on the hood, above the metal where the hinges bolt to? what is rusted/inverted.

Dimples can be where the hood cross supports were welded to the main panel.

What do you mean by Improper hinges? If you are trying to use hinges that are not designed for that truck id assume they would/could cause damage. The amount of travel on the hinges is pretty specific, the wrong kind of hinge wouldnt give you proper clearance for opening closing and you would probably screw up the paint above the firewall where the hood and cab meet.

Id love to help just still dont understand the question

Re: Hood

Maybe he's asking if worn or damaged hinges that don't work properly are causing damage to his hood?

Re: Hood

that makes a bit more sense I guess, The thing is- The hinges bolt onto a cross support which is then plug welded on the sides to the hood. There isnt any actual contact between the hinges and the hood. I think whoever told you that either meant something different that what you think or has no idea what hes talking about.
