Dash Question ???????????

Okay, I'm putting my dash together and am trying to install the light switch. I have the switch, retaining screw and bezel.

I put the switch in from the back of the dash, I put the retaining screw through the bezel and then tried to thread them together through the holes in the gauge cluster and metal dash.

BUT the retaining screw ( marked in the photo) is not long enough to reach the light switch.

Has anyone come across this problem? How do I get the parts to mate up?

Re: Dash Question ???????????

The nut should screw on first up against the metal dash then the bezel should screw on to the light switch on top of the gage cluster

Maybe I have the wrong parts, because the retaining screw ( smaller piece in the picture) is the only thing that threads into the light switch. The bezel is threaded, but the hole is larger than the retaining screw threads.

Any other thoughts or pictures of the correct set up? Thanks

Re: Dash Question ???????????

Its been a long time since mine has been apart , but I think the nut part is supposed to be threaded on both ends. As mentioned the nut screws into the switch and then the bezel screws on the outside end of the nut.

Re: Dash Question ???????????

I just went through this with mine. The nut part is threaded on both ends, infact the thread pitch is different on both ends.

That part is not repoped. LMC shows it but it is not right. Find an original part! Good luck

I think your right. I called ECE and they described the same thing, but stated that it was a piece that was not reproduced. That bites.

Does anyone have a picture of this piece??? PLEASE

For those that have this problem here is a picture from member "Green Machine" that shows the part in question

I guess I will have to post a WTB thread for the part. Thanks everyone.
