How are things. Been a while. A quick question for you, I have 2 of these , had no idea they were rare! No highjacking, they are not for sale. I am still piecing together that 67 swb 4x4. Any idea if something similiar was possibly used for the 4x4? The original GM assembly manual shows one.....but asked a few people over the years and no one had a clue.

Hi steve, i saw one on e-bay awhile back on a 4x4. I don't know if it sold or not. I think it was in new york. Still on the truck. Looked like the same set-up, but i am sure the brackets were different.

That's what I thought looking at the diagram. Seems like the power cylinder would use the same hole as a steering stabilizer. Time to do some Ebay searching for that post.

i noticed you said " i onl have what is in the picture", what more is needed? oh and is does the power steering box fit right on the stock frame, no need for the adapter or "dimpling" the frame like as needed to run the later year boxes? thanks

I don't have the brackets that mount the steering pump to the engine. Otherwise i believe it is all there. Later model ones may even work, but i am not positive on that.
And yes, this should bolt right onto a 67 frame. That is what it came off of.

Eric. I am looking to install a power steering assy on my 67. I am not really sold on installing year specific parts on my truck. I wanted to know if the assy that you are selling has a bracket that correctly mates the power steering gearbox and frame together without any mods?
I really do not need anything other than a bracket.
Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

The setup he is selling uses a manual gearbox. If you are adding an integral power steering gearbox to a 67 frame and don't want to dimple the frame, then add some washers between the frame and gearbox to space it out. Keep in mind that your steering column will no longer be directly inline with your gearbox and it probably puts added stress on the bearing in your steering column, but many people have made this modification without issue.

Personally, I like the ram assist setup on my 67. They are proned to leaking but they usuallly go many years before this occurs.
