Need help with removing Front End Clip

The plan is to remove the entire front end clip on my 1984 Silverado to do a engine swap, paint fire wall and clean up wiring. Can anyone assist me with some basic instruction on to do this. Other than disconnecting water hoses, battery, transmission lines, A/C lines, front wiring harness and removing the front bumper, radiator core support and cab fender bolts. Is there anything else need disconnecting, and is there other bolts I need to removed before I can remove the front clip? Once all bolts are removed and everything is disconnected what is the best way to lift and remove the clip?

Thanks in advance

Jonas

I think you have it covered just take your time, if you forgot something it'll let you know. If you take the hood off (I would) mark where the hinge/bolt locations are to speed up realignment. 2 people can lift it up and off

Re: Need help with removing Front End Clip

Leave the core support bolted to the front fenders, just take the two frame bolts out. It'll take a lot of wiggling and cussing, but it can be done. The more friends you have around to help, the better it goes, a full front clip is heavy and cumbersome.

Re: Need help with removing Front End Clip

I did mine last weekend. (1980 SWB)

Here were my steps:

EDIT (My hood was aready off the truck!)

1. disconnect battery
2. disconnect radiator hoses and trans cooler lines from radiator.
3. disconnect AC Hoses that pass thru the core support
4. disconnect the front wiring harness from the back of the fuse block on the firewall
5. disconnect grounding wire connecting core support to the frame
6. disconnect vacuum line to canisters ect (including fuel tank vent lines)
7. attached four heavy straps from the top insides of the fenders to my wench (only had girlfriend to help me!)
8. removed two large bolts holding the core support to the frame
9. removed one bolt on each fender inside the door jam
10. removed one bolt on each fender under the truck, near door jam
11. removed two bolts on each fender inside the fender well
12. removed right side tire (to clear factory AC unit) (may not be necessary but being careful!)
13. lifted clip up and forward while checking for obstructions, or connected parts!
14. lowered clip onto dolly

Wrote from memory so help me out folks if I left anything out.

Jonas, sounds like you already had all this, but thought it might help someone searching for the same topic!
