3/4 ton front springs

Hi everyone, new here and not really sure if Im doing this right but I have been a lurker for awhile now and finally got enough guts to ask a question
I have a 1972 chevy c10 that I am working on and have a question on the suspension. I really like the ride height of the truck but the rear is about two and a half inches higher than the front. I read somewhere that I can add 3/4 tonl springs to the front therefore raising the front about 2 inches and leveling out the truck....can this be done ? is there any other modifcations I need to do to it to make this work or is it as simple as a coil swap ? will this effect drivability if anyone is experienced with this or knows any info I would certainly apreciate it. thanks ahead of time

Re: 3/4 ton front springs

In the "make it handle" thread Rob posts the spring rates of several half ton and 3/4 ton front coils from moog. If I remember correct 1 of the 3/4 ton springs is an inch taller than the other. That coupled with the sag that your existing springs probably has already might level the vehicle. Take a look at the thread for the part numbers and if you have questions i am sure you can ask Rob there what he thinks and get a professional answer.

Re: 3/4 ton front springs

I asked ECE and they said 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks use the same spring.

Re: 3/4 ton front springs

That may be correct for some applications, but not all. there were different rated springs for different engines, v6's are obviously lighter than big block v8's. If you look at post number 370 on this thread "Make it handle" you will see there are several different rated springs for these vehicles and there part numbers. Further more I was wrong there is a 3/4 ton spring that is a 1/2" taller than the other, sorry.
