Repin for elec speedo

Got a 90 burb cluster for my 85 5.3 swap is there anywhere I can find some info repinning my harness and wire to PCM?

I put a cluster (the gauges anyway) from an '89 Trans-Am GTA in by 5.3 swapped Suburban. It was super easy. My speedo had 3 screws that connected it to the housing, and they transmitted the signal from the PCB. They were +12v, Ground, and VSS signal. I'm sure your speedo will also have only 3 connections. You will just need to figure out what pulse signal it needs (it is probably 4000ppm, which is what your 5.3 harness output is anyway) and have your ECM calibrated to your trans, rear end, and tire diameter for accuracy.

It may sound complicated, but it's just 3 wires. Take a pic of the back of your '90 speedo and post it. I can help you from there.

FYI, I was able to get all 6 gauges from the GTA to sync up and work with the 5.3. It's pretty easy if you take your time.

If any of you can post some pics of the back of your swap speedometers, I can point you in the right direction as to what wires go to what terminals. Also, there should be a sticker or some marking that states how many pulses per mile that speed uses. From there, you can get your PCM tuned for it, but the GM gauges should be good already, as mine was from the GTA.

Mine in my 96 S10 Blazer worked fine as well. The tach worked with a stepped down voltage assist to it. Had to solder a resistor in a 12 volt line and attach that to the signal wire.

Don't need instructions on how to hook a gauge up .....just info on what/how/where/etc on the signal line. I have new electric Autometer gauges that allow for different signal types and I can flip dip switches...... I just need to know the info on what wire for the signal feed for each gauge (just Tach and Speedo)...and if it makes a difference I don't have a standard harness....its a custom stand alone harness.

Guess you'd have to have the schematics for that harness. AlldataDIY.com has schematics for stock LS engine harnesses. You can find some on LS1Tech.com. Did your standalone harness come with all the guage wires as well. Some don't. Robert 63, You need to find the year engine PCm your using and get the pinout drawings for the computer and your 90 cluster. Again, you might find you computer pinouts on LS1Tech.com. The cluster, maybe there too, definately at Alldata.DIY.com.
