Throttle body/map sensor questions...

I was told when i bought this 5.3 it is off a 2002 tahoe, and based on lt1swap info the computer numbers match that theory as well as the tac module. If it is a 2002 then i think the throttle body (based on lt1swap info) is the wrong one beacuase it has a single 8 pin connector on passanger side.

Question is if this is the wrong throttle body can the harness be modified to work with this or do i need the correct throttle body??

Also, the map sensor was broken off the intake when i recieved it. And i believe there should be two ear (for lack of correct name) on the intake that the map sensor would clip to that are broken off as well. What would my solution be for this issue??

Re: Throttle body/map sensor questions...

That's am '03 and newer throttle body. You need the older TB that matches your TAC module for it to work. Is your TAC all plastic? Or is it plastic with an aluminum base? As for the MAP sensor, just remove the broken part that's still in there and put a new one in it. You don't need the tangs that clip it in unless you're going forced induction or something, since it's a tight fit and has vacuum on it.

Re: Throttle body/map sensor questions...

It is all plastic so I assume is 2001 or 2002 throttle body correct? I assumed that I wouldn't need those years for the map sensor seeings how hard it was to get the old broken peace out, thank you for confirming
