Not sure what I did here...

Probably could have put this in the "What have you done to your truck lately" thread, cause I did it over the weekend, but I am not sure what it is that I did.

Anyone ever have this happen?

I went to open the door and the button was kind of hard to push, so I popped it with the heel of my hand and "poof" gone. What the heck???

Well, I was going to replace the door anyway, so I guess new hardware is in order.

Re: Not sure what I did here...

You might not have hurt anything, or maybe just broke the retainer (pretty easy to make). Pop the door panel off and see what you've done.

It's fun opening your door like that during wasp season!

And when your finger brushes agains flaking chrome inside the hole, it sounds a lot like a wasp/wasp nest......

As you stick your finger in, you're thinking "No whammies, no whammies, no whammies......"

X2 what he said. Also look for a spring sitting in the bottom of yor door. Easy fix. It will make sense when you take the panel off and look in there.

Watch out for the wasps behind the tailgate lever too.

Re: Not sure what I did here...

Figured since my door handles were out it wouldnt be hard to get you a pic of what youre working with.
It looks like the retainer would be kinda hard to break. Those bent over tabs that hold it in look to be the weak link.
