van motor
I'm a n00b to LS swaps but want to do one on my 71. I have a line on a low mileage (64k) 6.0 from a 2006 Chevy van. Thinking of pairing it either with the 4L80e it comes with or the NV4500 I've been waiting to put in the truck. The engine has all accessories and PCM and harness.
Is there anything special about van engines that might make the swap harder? I am wondering if the harness or PCM might have any gotchas. Like I said, total n00b question... |

Re: van motor
no issues with van motors.
I think its an LQ4. 4L80e that is behind it is a great tranny also.

Re: van motor
Thanks Kewlkatdaddy. The seller said it is LQ4 so that jibes. I am torn between automatic and manual. I'm one of those weirdos that likes rowing gears.
Even though I probably won't get to this until the fall owing to my 1950 3100 project, I think I'll buy this one because of the low miles and start stocking the parts I need for the swap. |
