Offey Valve Cover Leak

Hello everyone, I need a little help with my Offey valve cover. It is going on a 250 I6, but for the life of me I can not get it to seal correctly! I was running it today an noticed a nice stream of oil coming out between the gasket and head. This was on the front passenger side by the cover hold down bolt. Aslo from the back of the cover right above the transmission. I am useing the FeloPro cork/rubber blue stripe gasket. Is there a better gasket or any tricks to make this leak stop?
Thanks!

Re: Offey Valve Cover Leak

geezer#99, yes I have a PCV and a breather oil filler cap on the valve cover. I am gonna try cutting the cover bolts down a little to see if that helps. I am gonna check to see if they are bottoming out first, they a stainless steel volts.

Re: Offey Valve Cover Leak

The offy is known for warping and actually coming from the factory warped. I'd take the cover off and put it on a flat surface to see if its warped. If it isn't then you can try stacking 2 gaskets together and that normally helps Alot. Also if your bolts are Too tight then you'll have leaks as well.

Re: Offey Valve Cover Leak

thank you all for the help and suggestions. I found the hold down bolts where just a bit to long, i chased the threads on the head and installed shorter bolts. Everything seems to be good now!
