I was wanting some advice replacing factory rivets. I'm working on 71 Chevy fleetside frame. Im wanting to replace the rivets on the cross members. What would be the best bolt, or would it even be a good idea to replace the rivets??! Thanks.

If they are fine I would leave them alone, but if not use grade 8 hardware. I replaced some of the rivets on my Burbs frame that were bad and that's what I used.

I agree with rocknss. Grade 8 bolts and make sure they fit the holes snug. If you have to, drill the holes out to the next bolt size to get the closest fit possible.

My advice, if you drill do it one rivit at a time to maintain the geometry of the frame.
