Headers for my '71 Jimmy

I am wanting to put headers on my new engine, but was told that that there is a difference in model #'s based on automatic and manual transmission, due to shift linkage, etc. I have a 4speed manual and would like to know if anyone has any experience with this before I buy them.

If ram horns fit, and you're not making a ton of power or driving high rpm, stick with them instead of headers. The headaches of leaks, fitting, replumbling the exhaust, etc doesn't outweigh the simply design and flow of the ram horns.

I agree on the issues with headers. It was a real pain to get a set that fit. Throw on top of that being a manual and you have even more issues. I did get a pair of headman headers to fit. They are for a 2wd but they clear. I have an auto though. They are shorties.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like the isn't a direct fit for the make/model.

Check out hooker I think they make a set that are for 4wd. They make exhaust as well. I went with headers for looks. The ram horns fit good but I'm not a fan of the way they look.
