Old video I made

-
I had almost forgot about this video I made in 1990. The daughter called me and asked if I still had it. I finally found it in an old box of VHS tapes. I converted it to a newer format and posted it on YouTube. I had just got a new VHS-C video camera and wanted to try it out. It was a little hard trying to work the remote while making it.

We hadn't had the Blazer very long.....

You're a funny guy. I think you missed your calling. You had me chucklin' a good bit. Things go about the same for me. I keep a roll of carpet to lay up under the truck I'm working on. Much nicer to be laying on when you get aggravated enough to just take a nap under the truck

That is actually a WWI combat helmet. Civil Defense converted a lot of them into CD helmets. You can see the CD decal on the side of it.

Now days I just use the cardboard from refrigerator boxes. It's a lot lighter to move around.

Well , I bought a creeper a couple of months later (when I had to change the front U-joint) and found that out...

Only problem is it would take the full length of this video to slide out from under the truck and get up off the ground now....

Well Scott, the bad part is that Taryl is better looking than I am, so I'm not challenging him...

Re: Old video I made

For me, 1990 was a great year for a number of reasons. That year is a landmark for me, plus the math is easy as far as counting back years in two centuries, just minus 10. One good thing in '90 was I bought a new Blazer. That was a great vehicle that I owned for 18 years. And you know what? it never needed a single u-joint replacement

It was a great truck, but after I drove it to Florida one Summer I swore I would never own another Black vehicle. That thing got so hot inside that I felt like a hot dog inside a rotisserie when I got in it.... Cookin', Cookin', Cookin'. I finally told the wife that I was not rolling the windows up any more when we parked it, and I didn't.

To me there's no prettier vehicle than a black one all dressed out with trim. However, black is the hottest and shows dirt quicker than any other color. I've always loved them but never owned a black one.

My wife and I bought our first new car. It was a black 1986 Mustang GT. Gorgeous car with two issues. Like you said, it was an oven every day and then keeping it clean was like having a second job. I told myself never again. Then I built myS10 race truck. I will never learn.

I ended up with the Black Sonoma I'm driving now by default. I always leave the windows open when I park. When we were still together, my wife went out and bought a brand new Cavalier without involving me. It was a black 4dr with manual transmission and no a/c. I guess she was thinking of resale value...NOT! I called it the Amish Car
