Bucket Seat Mount Differences
I have a '95 Suburban that came with a bench seat. I swapped in a pair of hi-back cloth buckets from a pre-95. The original bench seat mounted the same as the bucket seats that came in the '92 pickup I had. In that truck, I removed the original lo-back vinyl buckets and installed new take out hi-back cloth buckets from a Tahoe. They bolted right in. The original bench brackets in the '95 Suburban, the original lo-backs (outers) in the '92 pickup, and the pre-95 Tahoe hi-backs (outers) all mount the same. I have no idea what the early hi-backs I put in the Suburban came out of, but only the driver side outer bracket mounts the same. Does anyone know more about seat mounting in these trucks?
I took some pictures of the outer passenger side in my Suburban. I think the rear/inner bolt went in the original bench seat mounting hole. I can get more pictures

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
95 was the change over year for seats. The passenger side brackets differ depending on what they came out of. The extended cab and at least 2 door Tahoe had a weird seat of brakets to in corporate a rear seat release for it to automatically move forward. I have taken bench seat brackets or older style bucket brackets to the 95 up bucket, then they bolt right into the outer holes. Then drill new inner holes

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
I've had two '95s (truck & Suburban) and one '92 truck and they all used the same seat mounting. The seats changed but not the mounting brackets or locations. And the pre-95 Tahoe buckets also mounted the same. I don't know if the Tahoe was 2dr or 4dr. So you think these are from a 2dr Tahoe or an ext cab? I wondered about that. The Tahoe seats I used threw me off, but I didn't consider 2dr would differ from 4dr. So the ones I put in the '92 must have come from a 4dr

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
The main difference I knew in both pre and post 95 were the extended cabs ( and I assume 2door Tahoes) was the tracks that gave the so called quick ability for the rear seats. Never had a suburban or 4dor tahoe so I can't speak for them. I am not sure about th power seat versions either on how close they were to the non power ones. If you have the brackets for your year, just unbolt them from one seat and onto the one you want. I've done it several times and never have issue. They were direct swap.

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
Well, I know the seat in my 93 extended cab was changed from a standard bench, and I know it's the same style as my 99 extended cab. They are drivers side power 60/40s. The forward passenger side track bolt is drilled, as well as all the inners.

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
The seat was changed before I got the truck, but I did have to add a missing bolt that the previous owner (my cousin) didn't put in I guess because he didn't feel like moving the heat shield.

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
The 4 door tahoe's use the same seat and base as a truck. They have rear doors, so no need for the seat to slide forward to get in the back lol

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
^^^ That's what I figured, same as Suburban. It's the 2dr Tahoe and Ext Cabs that need the rear seat access. I'm sure the Crewcabs are same as Reg. Cab, Sub, and 4dr Tahoe

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
Yup. And it’s just the base that’s different, the seat itself is the same. I needed a seat for my 99 crew, took one from a 95 ‘hoe, other than having the lever to make seat for forward, same seat. Slightly different shade of tan but better than a broken n beat seat lol.

Re: Bucket Seat Mount Differences
Redundant details matter less than comfort . My buckets are the same in the Suburban. Might help if I ever end up with the passenger rear door getting stuck shut. "Ok, climb you way through that little gap there kids"
I know the crewcab rear seat is same as front bench. Usually those are in better shape
