engine size fender emblems?

I have picked up a few different fender emblems for my collection lately and it got me wondering how many different engine size fender emblems were used on the 67-72 chevy/GMC trucks.
I have the 292, 350, 396, and 400 already.
Did they come in 307,327 or 454?
Do any of you experts know of any other cubic inch emblems?
Thanks for your opinions
Ron

Re: engine size fender emblems?

They didn't make 307, 327, or 454. They make a reproduction 454 one now because it is a popular swap. 307 trucks didn't get a emblem because they were the standard v8. Trevor

Re: engine size fender emblems?

Been through Marysville numerous times, my sister's old college roommate down at Pitt, was a family member of the hardware or electric store downtown Marysville. Hey can you do a big favor Ron???? Can you shoot me a pic of the Chevrolet/GM dealership on the highway near downtown at night when the showroom lights are still on? I am wanting to paint my Chevelle in that dealership window, I think it has one of the most vintage looking dealership looks around. Thanks Trevor

Does anyone repo the 327 emblem?

I haven't been able to find one. I'd love to have a set for my truck.

You can find the repop car fender emblems for 327 all over the place, but its apparently not a popular enough item for trucks.

What these other guys said is true. You pretty much have what was made. Now, try to find reproduction fender badges for a GMC 3500 with a 350. IMPOSSIBLE to find someone making them unless you pay to have a custom made badge. I looked for YEARS and never found any.

Re: engine size fender emblems?

Trevor-
Beings we have the same birthday and all(although 34 years apart), I will try to get you some pics. The trick will be to get it at night with lights on. This is a small town after all and the sidewalks roll up and everything pretty much closes at 6. At times the wife of the owner decorates up the front window in seasonal crap. Will this hurt or are you just wanting a pic to paint a picture off of? I think they lost their dealership in the GM bankruptcy reorganization.
I have a 1969 C/10 that was bought there new in 69, and it has the Metal dealership Logo on the hood cowl that says Myers Chevrolet, Marysville Ks
I can also remember back at sometime in the 70's when they had the big posters prominently displayed in the front window stating "AMERICA'S FAVORITES" -- Baseball, Hotdogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet!
Ah, them were the good old days!
Ron

Re: engine size fender emblems?

That's all the emblems for 10-30 trucks, as far as engines go. You only got emblems if it was an optional engine. There was a big truck emblem that had a motor size on here a while ago, but I don't remember if it was real or not?

Re: engine size fender emblems?

I'll have to look in my town junkyard at a c60 with a 366 in it. I have correct 427 emblems for a c60 that my dad got from a truck we needed the steel crank out of for my chevelle. Trevor

Re: engine size fender emblems?

I really appreciate it Ron, I might paint it so the Chevelle and the truck are in the showroom. If you can even dusk before the lights are off. It really don't matter much if they have holiday decorations on the building. I just think a dusk, or night shot would be the best to paint. I can modify it a little bit when I paint it, but just needing a shot. I normally go up that way to junkyards, but I never go by there at night. Thanks a million, Trevor

Re: engine size fender emblems?

Maybe this will help... There is also a 366 and 427 hood emblem from the C-60 trucks.
As far as GMC, they used either V-EIGHT, or V-SIX.
I will update with a few new ones i have this winter. Eric

Re: engine size fender emblems?

If Canada is 9,what number is the USA?(higher or lower?)

67/68 Chevys used no engine badges,so no 327.GMCs never used engine badges.

Repop means reproduce. They don't reproduce what they never made. Engine badges on Chevys are from 69-72. 327s were offered through '68...last year

Ok,now I understand...sort of...and your question was answered. Just thinking leaving the repo out would've been even more convenient. I'm no Oxford scholar but I do have a certain level of respect for language in general. I like to keep it simple, yet effective. Like,"Say what you mean and mean what you say". We learn from reading and when we read the wrong thing we learn wrong.

I'm no English major, but I've got a good education and a good understanding of the English language. This is a message forum, not an English class. The reason I used "repo" is because the term was already used in posts prior to mine. I knew what they meant and it wasn't a big deal to me.
