Paying it forward!!!!
I hope this thread is ok with the MOD's, If it is against policy or rules or something I deeply apologize. I just wanted to help out some fellow members.
I thought after seeing a post by "54 Jimmy" about some hinges, I thought it would be cool to have a "paying it forward" thread. Basically, putting up parts that you don't need or want around, and another member can use, I would say for the price of shipping( helping our truck brothers out there). Some of us are doing ok with our projects and some of us brothers out there are having a little bit of a hard time work wise or other wise. Either way, it is a way for us too clean out that old milk crate thats been sitting in the garage in the corner that you just don't want to get rid of because you know someone will ask you for something out of it someday. Maybe barter something, give it away, all for the price of shipping.... I will go second: I have a radio delete plate(no clips), a steering column bracket(mounts to bottom of dash) no lower piece. all for TF series truck/ panel, suburban. let me know who needs what?

Re: Paying it forward!!!!
I'm up for this. I've got some parts I would be happy to pass on so they don't go to the scrap yard. How do we make this happen ?

Re: Paying it forward!!!!
Extremely thoughtful of you Mike. I hope the moderators don't shut this down. I don't THINK they will if no one eff's it up by selling.
To SoCal locals I've got a chrome front bumper I will let go for free. The chrome is hazy - don't expect too much for free. No bolts or brackets, you've gotta pick it up cause I'm not hassling trying to ship something that big. I've also got a custom made galvanized sheet metal glove box I think old owner must have made it. It fits good but I don't want it. I want the (quieter) original cardboard type. |

I've got Original front and rear axles with springs (drum to drum, enclosed drive line.) for an AD one front spring is broken if I remember correctly, and 2 S-10 rear ends (2wd), stock S-10 rear springs. Seemed to be in fine working order, just didn't fit my needs. Free to anyone who would like to come pick them up Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Paying it forward!!!!
Great idea Fabguy. Just like Dan mentioned, hopefully nobody will mess it up.
If this takes off, I can make it a "sticky" We have to follow the forum rules; no posting wants or needs, no trades and no for-sales, freebies only. And, just like in the for sale sections, first in line to post "I want this" gets the part pending approval of shipping charges. Here's a reminder of the forum rules: Please note that you must be a supporting member to post classified items. This includes but is not limited to What Its Worth, Want To Buy, Want To Trade, and For Sale. Please consider supporting the forum by subscribing. Further information on the subscription levels available are located here If you need any further assistance with that please contact any Admin for help. So, please don't break these rules and this should work out great. Ogre, I hadn't heard about this being against rules. I may get out-ranked here. We'll see. Seems like a great idea, so lets give it a try.

Re: Paying it forward!!!!
i tried this a couple yrs ago and was warned not to.
realistically, supporting this forum with a $25 yearly donation is the cheapest thing we can do to keep this forum going. the technical support we get from the guys here is worth a lot more. i just re-upped my support and was not due to until september.

Re: Paying it forward!!!!
In '68, my '55 TF panel had a steel milk crate with a pillow, for my passengers. Maybe that is why none of my girlfriends stuck around very long.
Ogre- I have owned my 57 TF panel for a year now, so I just paid my membership. This forum has been immensely helpful. Last edited by Highsider; 07-19-2013 at 11:29 AM. |

Re: Paying it forward!!!!
I say whomever receives the free merchandise should donate an amount to the forum membership fund, just an idea.
I have a brand new jute padded, hard plastic outer, interior firewall cover. It's not heavy, but long and tall. Probably $30 ish to ship, but over $100 to buy one. Paying it forward to someone who can use it, pay the shipping and kick a little to the forum |

Re: Paying it forward!!!!
I'm in.i have a gas tank with filler neck, straps and cap, 2 window regulators, 1 axle with tie rod and steering arms - no spindles, I may have a pair of front marker lights and a headlight bucket. I will have a complete seat with frame and good cushions later.
All are off a 1949 ad. I would even consider delivering in the seattle area. Posted via Mobile Device |
