1974 SWB C10 (The Mistress)

Hey guys I bought this truck in November for 250 bucks and it runs. I have a few plans for it but can't for my life think of a definate color to paint it. I know I don't want black, red, white, and the blue thats on it. So if yall could suggest me some colors.

How about a Champagne Gold or an Emerald Green Metallic?

I like the green idea but I'm not big on champagne.

Something one guy on here did was just went cruising to all the new car dealerships looking at the colors on the new cars. He said that gave him really good ideas on colors, and what it actually looked like in person instead of on a color card.

I saw a Pontiac Sunfire with a real dark metallic blue that i like, and I I've been doing that as well. But now a days theres not to many good looking metallics on any car maker.

Looks (& sounds) like a good deal for $250. I can name off color ideas for you all day but a lot of color choice depends on your other plans for it.

well if i could have got the c6 vette wheels to work, i would have made her in a ZR1 truck, still may, but my more imediate plans is a 5/7 drop, 400 Small block, and 18's all the way around.

You can make any wheels fit with some determination, some skills, and/or some $$$.

Let me put it this way, it would be cheaper to sell these wheels and buy ones that fit no problem than to buy the rediculous spacers needed to make them work. the spacers would cost around $350 which the wheels I want is that much lower opposed to the price I have set for wheels I have.

I like that green, was thinking about when I do up my 81 swb to go with a new color. I'm using my 81 lwb for the parts on the new project.

Re: 1974 SWB C10 (The Mistress)

That is a nice green, and it would look good with a gunmetal factory type 2-tone and matching gunmetal wheels. I know you said no 2-tone but I didn't know if you are against the factory styling.

Don't take my comment from earlier wrong. I only meant that if those were the wheels that you were set on using, you could make them work. There are a handful of wheels that I would love to use but like you said, it isn't always realistic to think of.

no, I'm not against fatory styling, its just two tones are a dime a dozen out here.

I didn't take it the wrong way, I just wouldn't feel comfortable running a 3.5" spacer for the rear and a 2.5" spacer for the front, but those wheels would have looked damn good on it.

Re: 1974 SWB C10 (The Mistress)

I lowered the over the weekend but haven't done the front yet, don't really have the money to do the front, so it's staying where it is for now. It's still a little to high but untill I get more money it will have to do. roughly 3 inches is what takeing two leafs out amounts to, i want to go 6 inches all the way around.

Have you considered cutting a loop off the front coils? Very commonly done.. That's how mine is lowered in the front.

Metallic green base.....candy green over the top, and a little gold pearl in the clear to top it off....
