My trash truck make over
Here is a photo of my 72 truck I bought 25 years ago for $250.00 it had a blown motor , I installed a 350 in her I had and used her as a trash hauler once in a while so I figured she paid her dues so I started the transformation I felt she earned I will put on progress photos I've done to her when possible . Wish me luck.

Re: My trash truck make over
If you post from your phone sometimes the picture doesn't orient correctly. Edit that picture by rotating it one time...save...edit...now rotate to original position...save. Then try and post the same picture. It works everytime for me.

Re: My trash truck make over
LOL, Awesome trash truck!!! My current trash truck is an 85 ford, I bought it for about half it's scrap value, because I desperately needed a pickup...until I get my 67 C-10 on the road (THEN, the poc ford WILL get scrapped...), then on to the 68...
71's and 72's are the best pickups to start out with, already having disc brakes, the most important option!!! Carry on!!! |

Re: My trash truck make over
You are welcome, and also "My Friend" now.
Keep up the good work and post some pics. I plan on finally getting back on my build full speed ahead. Had a bunch of stuff on the plate that I had to get off there. Done. Now it's Truck Time.

Re: My trash truck make over
don't forget to weld braces in the inside of your can , where you removed the sheet metal. It will limit the cab from spreading, it will only take a few minutes and will save you a lot of head ackes. george

Re: My trash truck make over
I can tell you know your trucks, thanks for the advise I've already built the truck actually drive it once in a while just taking my time and showing build photos , I did add braces in before I welded new metal in I lucked out this time but should have welded them in first I'm building a 67 GMC right now ,also as you can see in my profile I've also been working on a 68 for a while just when I'm not busy on others. Again thanks for the advice maybe someone that has never built one before will read this and we can help him.

Re: My trash truck make over
Thanks guys for the complements if possible I would try and help all you brothers out. I put some good noise and insulation down before putting in new carpet , I also put it behind the gas tank it really helps with coolness and noise.
