Small part painting gun?
I'm starting to work on my trucks again. I have a lot of brackets, mounts, braces, etc that I would like to clean up and paint in black epoxy. I have limited time and usually get no more than a couple done at a time. Here in MI, if you don't get paint on it quick, it will rust, and rustoleum primer ain't what it used to be. Problem is, I need like 1/4 - 1/2 cup mixed paint, and I don't really have a good system for that. Air brush is a little too small for some of the bigger brackets. My touch up gun is an old siphon and cleaning it is time consuming and expensive. Best idea I've come up with so far is HF touch up HVLP and finding a small capacity cup system for it. Anyone got a better idea, or know what cup system fits?

Re: Small part painting gun?
I've been very impressed with the black widow I got from hf..I know it's full sized
The other gun I dropped and broke was the Eastwood concours edition..it was a 2 gun setup, 1 hlvp fullsize and a hlvp touch up gun...I'm very impressed with the little touchupper...I used it a good bit for my smalls.. The biggest issue I have with the small gun is your limited on tip size choices for what I have

To the original question-I bought a small gun off Amazon and it was so amazing. Then it broke (after a ton of use) when I bought it again it was a different manufacturer and was crap. I use a harbor freight purple gun now-even for the small stuff. You can get the little aerosol cans (Preval is the brand) with the little glass jars on the bottom from most hardware stores. I have used them in a pinch. They work well enough for small stuff but they get expensive for what they are.

Re: Small part painting gun?
Thanks Mongo. I might pick it up when I get around to spraying something other than primer. I just cant justify buying a $400-500 gun when I barely use it.

Re: Small part painting gun?
I bought this kit from Harbor Freight to spray primer and it works really good. Both the guns are easy to clean compared to the purple guns. I have sprayed both epoxy and 2K in the full-size and sprayed epoxy, base and clear in the detail gun. Spraying small parts with the detail gun will save you a ton of material and right now they are both on sale for $35.00!
