ive got a quadrajet in my truck and i think it works pretty darn well. gets good mileage and when i stomp it, it gets up and goes. what are your favrite carbs?

69 c-10. turquoise. 350 motor with 400 trans. long fleet. daily driver. pretty plain jane right now but hopefully that will change soon.

Any AFB carb, be it webber, eldebrock, or carter.

i too have had great luck with q-jets also like carter and the holley better be a double pumper..i have yet to have a vaccum sec. holley that the 4 barrels would open unless i put a srew in the linkage to make it manual

I have run a lot of vac seconds Holleys,usually run a purple spring to open them a little faster.......69

I have a 4-barrel Holley #3310 in my truck. It gets up and goes real good, although the gas milege isn't very good. 8m/g

A good(which isnt often for me)Qjets are awesome.
But everything is getting Edelbrocks i have a 600 and 750,never need attention.Im sure the Carter is identical-just a different label,theyre made by Weber.
Holley i will NEVER run one on a daily driver again.had many,hated everyone.have several now,in a crate.
Id love to get the Edelbrock Performer Qjet heard thats a sweet one!!!but its spendy. Qjets are nice for the mileage,and big in the back for when you need it i think they all flow 750 or so cfm,i could be wrong but im almost sure.

I've run them all and I'd have to say the Rochester Quadrajet is the best performer in all conditions requiring the least amount of adjustment. I absolutely love the sound of that 850 when it howls.

Had a Holley that needed to be adjusted when the sun went down.

QJ's rock, when tuned right, they just run and run and run, good acceleration, good power from the big @ss secondaries, good mileage, excellent all purpose carbs, I have a buddy with a 72 442 powered with a 455, tunnel rams, 2 bb QJ's, 11:1 comp, making 500 horse and he loves it too. The worst problems I've found with Holleys is on a steep incline(hills in my pasture) it tends to starve the engine for fuel, no such problem with QJ.
