BBC Help!

I am considering freshening up my 402 and I ran across a great deal on a NEW 2000 L-29 Vortec long-block crate engine. With a shipment from Summit and some assembly work, I could have a new 4-bolt-main, roller-cam 454 ready to drop in for less than $2,300. If I have my 402 rebuilt, I fear I would have to spend close to that for the disassembly, hot-tank, machine-work, bearings, cam, reworked heads, assembly, etc.

Do I store my 402 and install/drive the 454 or freshen up the 402 and not worry about having to store the original engine?

Am I missing any good alternatives here?
