1970 cst 4x4

So i finally convinced my wife to let me get one of these. The plan is to make it a daily driver for now on the cheap. While also handling some of the upgrades along the way. Here is what I started with.








Can anyone tell me what this bracket is or was for??











I like that its a factory 4x4 4 speed and it runs and drives. I don't like all the rust and body work in my future haha. I have made some progress already I will post pictures soon.
