Big Block Install Problems

Hi

My truck was originally a 350 with a 3 speed. Then the PO converted it to an automatic. That was it’s configuration when I got it 15 years ago. Now I am putting a 454 with a manual trans in the truck. I bought big block stands off of a board member and big block mounts from the parts store. Now for the problem, when I try to put the 454 in it the ball for the clutch pivot is about 2 inches too far back. Any idea what is happening? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks Danny
