Question Thermostat .....

What temp thermostat are guys running? I've got the factory one in my LS3 but am wondering if I should go cooler because of the TVS 1900 supercharger?

Re: Thermostat .....

Mine is factory. Of course mine doesn't have a supercharger! But my tuner (the good one that knows what he is talking about) said the fans cool it down quick enough that just adjusting the fan on temp was good. Just my .02.

Re: Thermostat .....

Stock stat should be fine, but I understand going down to the 180* stat if you have enough other stuff putting out heat. I.e., a built tranny w/cooler, or in your case, the tvs1900.

If your putting out a good amount of heat load from the blower, the 180* will just help you run down the heat load a little quicker, and keep you from a panic attack in traffic. As always, it won't help much if your cooling system itself isn't up to the demand you put on it.

Don't go down to the 160*'s or anything like that. These motors are designed for 195-215*ish. Going lower will just make it run cold and rich.
