Definitely looks like they do really nice work. I shot them a PM on Facebook for an estimate.

It's pricey but money well spent vs. potentially screwing up nice/clean sheet metal.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Well, I actually have a short bed for my truck, so no sheet metal work needed, luckily. Just would like some nice welds on my frame. If they weld like Ben, that's a couple pretty easy straight cuts and some welding. Shouldn't be too bad, I wouldn't think.

And back to regularly scheduled programming of Ben's build....

Very awesome work on the shortbed conversion, definitely learned some things that I could have done different/better if I were to go back and do another.

With the caps and white lines, your truck looks a lot like my new one! You are beating me to the drop, so I'm following along for inspiration! Keep up the good work (and keep us posted).

honestly the frame was the easy part. A kit isn't really necessary but you could buy the brothers kit get everything bolted up then find someone who does on site welding to come to your house and weld it up.

Thanks, I did a lot of research here and other places to decide how I wanted to do it. If I were to do another I'd probably change a few things.

Been waiting for this for a while I'm ready to lose the nose bleed stance.

Re: 70 gmc DIY build

Picked up a good used blast cabinet in preparation for doing my front suspension. Definitely money well spent and sure beats blasting over a tarp in the yard.

He makes a bolt-in frame insert as well that helps w/alignment concerns & then is a frame reinforcement.

True, there are a few others as well. I think the brothers kit is the only one that lays out the cuts, holes and everything.
