Re: Grandpas 71 GMC
Great progress Dave. Everything looks great! I have been curious about the borla exhaust sound. If you can, post a sound clip. I am going to swap my mufflers as i don't like the flow master super 44 at all. Too poppy like glass pack.

I got the door panels covered and new handles/cranks. Just need to decide on a stereo now.

Re: Grandpas 71 GMC
Looks great Dave! I am a fan of JL Audio products. Not sure if you just want basic Or stock looking and if so that is cool. If you want more than stock, JL Audio has great stuff. I have tried both mounting speakers in doors and behind seats in corners. I would argue that door speakers will sound much better if installed properly. A sub can go anywhere. Under the seat behind the seat and will still sound the same.
I chose a pioneer head unit that allows me to use bluetooth on my phone for music and calls. It came with a mic for the sun visor that makes hands free calls a breeze. So nice to have some modern features available today. Good luck on your choice. I am sure it will turn out as good as the rest of your truck has. Chris

Re: Grandpas 71 GMC
Thanks. I have been looking at some of retro sounds head units but i have also thought about going with a set up like you have. I just hate the thought of cutting the dash. Can you post a pic of how you mounted speakers in the cab corners?

Re: Grandpas 71 GMC
Dave, Sorry for the delay in getting you this. Here is a pic of my inner fender as requested. I did cut it to allow some wiggle room for Pwr steering lines. I used a square body pump and the lines I got were a bit different than stock so just didn't want the lines being rubbed by fender.
Happy Holidays. Chris

Re: Grandpas 71 GMC
I have done a few little things to the truck. I removed the rear overload spring so it would have more of a level stance. Also got my engine and coil covers installed. Im thinking about getting some nerf bars but im not sure how they would look. Open for opinions on nerf bars.
