Question '73 14 bolt rear end

Question: is a 14 bolt from a 4 x 4 the same thing as a DANA 60? I've got one, and would like to sell it if I can identify it. Thanks for any assistance. Brad

They are completely different. Usually the 14 bolt is used in the rear, and the front will be either a dana 44 or Dana 60 depending on application. I believe the Dana axles are stamped in the pumpkin with the model number, IIRC.

Here is the link I copied from:
http://www.offroaders.com/info/tech-.../axlefacts.htm

DANA 60
A Dana 60 looks deceptively similar to a Dana 44, but the 60's 9 3/4-inch ring gear diameter is a major factor in strength. It can be found in many 3/4-ton pickup and van rearends. LEFT SIDE PIC

GM CORPORATE 14-BOLT AKA: Eaton Rear end
The "small" GM 14-bolt has a 9 1/2-inch ring gear diameter. It was used in the rear of 1964-and-later GM pickups, and in the rear of 1984-91 3/4-ton Suburbans. All bolts are evenly spaced except the four nearest the axle tube, which are closed together than the rest. CENTER PIC

GM CORPORATE 14-BOLT
With a 10 1/2-inch-diameter ring gear, the biggest 14-bolt GM rearend looks much like a Dana 70, and is but a few thousandths of an inch shorter in ring gear diameter. This axle is commonly used with big engines and/or overly large tires. It was used under 1973-87 3/4-tons. RIGHT SIDE PIC

You guys are the best, thanks for the input. I've been dealing with a '73 that I thought was a '72, but do I know my Chevy's, NOT! Anyway, mine is obviously teh 14 bolt Corporate axle. Know anyone that needs one? Thanks again, Brad

14 bolt corporate

Hi Dan. Sorry, I'm in Oregon. The axle is a complete take-out from a 3/4 ton 73 step side. I've got the front axle as well, with Selectro hubs on it. I'm open to offers. Br ad
