Door Saggin...

Two of my doors on my Burb drop when opened. They drop about 1/2 inch or so on each.

I was wondering if I could get some idea as to what it would cost to have them re-set. ( how much have you heard of people paying) And about how long it takes.

I suppose this is for all that have had it done before, or any body work people.

Is the problem that big of a deal?? Or can it wait a while?

door hinge rebuild kit ~ $20. I haven't done mine yet, but I'm sure there are others here that have.

Door hinge rebuild if you are lucky...

My doors sag when opened but it is because the doors are rusted out around the hinges pretty bad so the sag is due to flex of the remaining structural material around the hinge... Open your door and look and it will be quite obvious if this is what you are dealing with.

I looked at my doors, they look pretty good. A little cancer at one of the corners, but thats it.

I think I will look for a rebuild kit. anyone got a link?

A door hinge kit fixed mine, I have a Blazer. It would be much easier if you have two people, a heavy duty punch and possibly a reciprocating saw. My bushings were gone and the door hinge pin was in there tight, tight. I had to cut them and then beat the you know what out of them to get them out. I then blasted the hinges, painted and dropped in the new bushings, door stops and pins fell right in. Problem fixed. Be sure to mark your hinges on all sides prior to removal, it will make the door aligning much easier--learn from others mistakes. It took me forever to get my passenger door lined back up. Drivers side took about one hour or so to complete as I had it marked and with the new bushings and pins there was no need for alignment--perfect fit.
