fi50 mirrors
just got my pickup back from paint and i had bought some new f150 mirrors and was needing some advise and pics would be great relly dont know if i want to use them or not

mine are held with the 2 front screws... no back arm, i cut it off. mount about 7 inches back from front of door to clear the vent window.
you might want to use a backing plate with angle iron or 1/8 to 1/4 inch steel to strengthen the door where you mount the mirror. |

Man i like that. I sold my '93 supercab flareside last year and had the mirrors like that. I had them painted to match the truck (red) but let the chrome cover chrome. I didn't even think to put them on my '71. Looks good.

They are about the only OEM "bolt on" mirror that looks good and has a bigger size for towing or just looking. The auto parts mirrors are just tacky.
If you can't find them in wrecking yards, they are available aftermarket for under $100pr. I sell them and they are much less than the Ford dealer prices. Last edited by PICKMUP; 10-21-2006 at 11:54 AM. |

i don't need power mirrors. you would need to splice into your wiring harness, cut through the door jamb/door for the wiring, and hack the location of the switch somewhere. too much work, when manual works fine.
the wiring should be as easy as a couple grounds, power on a fuse that works in run/acc, and the switch. |
