Had a junk Blazer top that had been burned above drivers window. Didn't know what to do with it so started an experiment. Still work in progress but almost there.

Buddy of mine used to buy up all the junk blazers (67-72) style he could in the early 90's and used the upper half of the windshield frame to make convertable trucks with the frame and top grafting the top onto the sheetmetal behind the rear window somehow I didn't pay close enough attention but they did not leak and looked really cool

wish I had a dig cam back then

That's a cool idea, but I'm confused. It looks like you cut the rear half of the shell also in that last pic. Are you going to put that on instead of the one in the first pic? I think that would look tons better with that slanted portion!

just cut out the windows and am putting the front and rear halves together. Has kind of a racerback look.

Any chance you could mock up the part in pic #4 up to the cab as sort of a 'slanted half-cab thingy'? I'm curious to see what that would look like. I'm also curious what your true intentions are with this-I'm having difficulty picturing it.

As far as the first half cab pic is concerned one of the first half cab conversions was a fiberglas one much like that one only the rear of it rounded over to look a little more like a pickup cab. I don't think they are still being produced. I may still have a pic or two of a 2wd blazer with that conversion.
Using that rear portion without the side windows could give the truck an Avalanche sort of roof and upper body line, if you like that sort of thing...

Yeah, that is exactly what I was going to do. I wanted to mount a fleetside bulkhead in front of the wheel houses and end my sectioned hardtop there. Keep going, you can save me alot of work haha
I wasn't sure what it would look like so post up more pics. pls.

Is this posted on the right forum, more Blazer/Jimmy guys would see it over there

You could be a trend setter, cheaper than a halftop, if you can find one...

That's a sweet idea!

A buddy of mine had a '67 Bronco and put the half-cab top on it. It was a sweet and functional rig.

For anyone wanting one, I have a double wall blazer top sitting behind my shed that I will give away for free!! Would make for a great half-cab project.

Got a little further on it Sunday. Have it all mocked up on a fixture to keep it square and true. Will try to sit it on Blazer Sat. and post some more pics. The only real issue other than time is that the body lines above doors and window falls short in the back half. Not a major obstacle, but a little more glass work to get a clean line. The object of this is to give the truck support from windshield to bed but still have a convertible feel. Probably going to get tonneau to replace rear hatch and go all the way to back. Still not sure about that. Thanks.
