Re: 62 chevy project

Are you mixing and matching cabs? That first cab isn't a 62, but the other one is? Good looking motor!

I am goin to run a newer brake setup on it maybe a metro master cylinder or something but I plan on putting it under the cab. I also have a drop out stainless battery box I am mounting under the bed.

Nope no cab swap I traded for the my 95 sonoma
for the truck which was a 66 and It looked good but closer inspection revealed it ws on a 62 LWB frame that farmers R US got ahold of with their cutting torch and welder and made it a shorty.
The frame wasnt square and the rear pan hard bar was welded back to the right size and some of the front stuff was really jerry rigged But the bed was In real good shape and it had new glass in it and a mid 90's chevy steering wheel on it.
Then I found this 62 pretty much how it sits minus the wheels and front clip for 500 just for the bed and I took the bed off and ALMOST scrapped the rest then decided to keep this one cause the frame was straight and the bed is REALLY straight so I decided to swap the front end and my wheels yanked the drivetrain and sold the 66 for 700. and freshened up the motor and bought a 700r4 that is in really good shape and mounted to the engine now the engine is just roughed in so I get it out the garage for now but this summer I should have it on the road with the frame and new tranny crossmember and 5 lug front crossmember and new cab mounts and a new drivers side pan. so I can just work on the body when I have time and not worry about it mechanically.
