ok i was trying to remove the wiper cowl, granted it was rather chilly outside and i couldnt feel my hands, but i couldnt get the wiper arms off. i pressed the clip underneath with a screw driver but couldnt get the arms to lift off. anyone have and secret tricks to popping those suckers off? i twisted and yanked and damn near bent it...

all i can say is to use an alligator clip to hold the wiperclip down and then rotate the wiper at the base in tiny circles and it should come right off.

the only other way i have done it is to open a crescent wrench to the same opening as the wiper base. hold the clip open, and use something to lever against the cowl as you push up on the wiper base with the wrench.

They make a tool just for that, you can get it at pep boys or auto zone for under 20 bucks

dude...I have tried at least 20 times to get the wipers off!! haha I cant get them either and dont wanna break anything. But some day they will come off and be replaced with some billet alum ones!!

Like was mentioned, you need a special tool or a prybar. I've never used the special tool, but you have to be really careful with a prybar so you don't mess up the cowl.....lay a thick cloth or some cardboard or something on the cowl before trying this. With the clip depressed, you need to gently pry up on the bottom of the wiper. It's a slightly tapered shaft, and the spring-loaded portion of the wiper arm puts constant pressure on the joint, so it won't just slip off. Once it starts to move, it will pop right off.
