Which cat back system to get?

Should I go with Magnaflow/Flowmaster/other brand. I want a good tone without a ton of cab noise for my 2006 GMC 1/2 Ton Crew Cab. I personally love the flowmaster tone but will the cab noise be too much. Magnaflow also sounds good but will it be too soft of a tone where it can't hardly be heard. I need your thoughts and opinions.

Re: Which cat back system to get?

I have dual flowmasters on my 95 K1500 Suburban. Cab noise was a consideration which was why I went with their 50 series instead of the usual 40's. I didn't buy one of their kits but had a local muffler shop do a custom job. It sounds good at idle, is aggressive under full throttle but very little resonance at highway cruising.

Re: Which cat back system to get?

You are moved my son

I had the Flowmaster 50 catback on my 96 extened cab. My 03 Dodge crew cab had the Magnaflow and so does my 2002 V6 reg cab. The magnaflow is quieter overall, but you can definitely hear it on the outside. I still tend to like the Flowmaster 50 system better. It was definitely louder on the outside and a bit more rumble on the inside of the cab, but not iratating on long highway cruises. But I like some rumble when I am driving.

Those are the only two I have experience with. I voted flowmaster.

Re: Which cat back system to get?

I'm kind of torn between the two... I love the sound of a good flowmaster system, but would be worried about the constant droan of the loud exhaust. I'd say if you decide to run 50 series you should be fine. I recently heard my first magnaflow system and actually kind of like the tone, especially on a new vehicle.

Best of luck with the deicision! (I did cast a vote for the Flowmaster system)
