dig the 72, its a shame you couldnt get that burb and set it a side till later, finish this project sell, use prceeds on the burb, where at did you say the burb was, what where they asking, if you dont mind,

Not too much to report on progress;ran a taper gauge down a couple cylinders and found 15 thou in one-10 needs new pistons! Block and rotating assy are at the machine shop as of 'safternoon,cut and welded seat/shoulder belt mounts only too find out 1967 has fine thread bolts I don't posess, so can't mock them up! Getting close to pulling the cab off to dress the bottom and under coat as well as brake/fuel lines, move trans c-member for o/d etc etc pics to follow(I like 'em as much as anybody!!)

I don't know if this will help anyone else, but for panel(door) alignment; this works for me! 25 lb steel plate for weight in empty door shell, 1/8" holes in hinges and pillar, 1/8" allen keys as alignment dowel, you should be able to assemble painted parts no scratchy. You can pin fenders etc, just be discreet with align holes. One of these shots shows gun rack holes to be welded!And the inspirational pic sent by another member!!!

More: aligned the doors(cause they're on) so I can remove the cab, pluck the cab, put it on a dolly and ready the frame for disc conversion, drop spindles, brake and fuel lines, mount elect. pump for TBI, move crossmember for 700r4. Time to get this show rollin!

You can see in a couple of those shots things don't always go as planned;my stand placement on the dolly for a previous project was 2 1/2" off of lining up with cab bracing, whattaya gonna do.

'Tis a DeVillbis cross-flow booth;I do restorations and hot rod/bike builds in a (toooo small) shop on my acreage. It's paying the bills, so far anyways! Got up to date on your build tonight; looks good, can't keep my parts stash in the open all at once or the woman realizes just what's goin on here......hehehe.

Tony, those TBI engine exhaust manifolds won't work with the engine mounts that you've got on your frame there. You either need to run the late model mounts too or different manifolds.

I thank you for the input, I have late model frame/engine mounts(1990 suburban) and long tube headers(1984 1/2ton)that I hope will work, motor only had one 02 sensor on the rt side-simple.

I may have the cab on before the engine/trans goes in; does anyone have a measurement how far back the trans crossmember goes for a 350/700r4 combo so maybe I can move it before hand? I hate having my schedule dictated by someone elses(stupid engine rebuild!!)

Seems longer than it has been since last update, but....here goes. This truck was a barely started project by PO. I don't know what goes on sometimes cause they drilled new t-crossmember to the rear and I wonder how it was planned to drop the distributor in the 350 and TH400 that was in before I bought it, oh well. I've since mocked up an old 400 block with the 700r4, $80 un-used headers and new style motor mounts in the forward frame holes. I also don't know the differences between 67 and 72 swb frames, but the ss brake line kit for 72 disc swb was practically silly-might as well have been for a 72 nova! So I bought a couple rolls of tube and bent and flared my own; if you don't need to do this, DON'T! Out of the 10 small ends I double flared I'm comfortable with 2 or 3-wish me luck that they all seal! I prolly got 9 or 10 hours into these; mounted the '90 prop valve near the front cab mount on the frame and went from there. Also changed a rusty trailing arm and swapped the 3:08 diff for 3:73 and I'll trade the ss brake lines for 4" rear drop springs/new mount plates and bolts. Next is to mount the Carter inline pump and work on a return line in the factory tank,and weld up holes in the firewall and dash and cab interiorandblastfloorandbodyworkandprimeandandandand............
