Body Repair question
How would you folks go about fixing this dent. As far as the bumper is concerned, I might just buy a new one....
Now I am not inclined nor do I have any experience with this type of work so I will have to find somone to do it. I would like to know if you think I should buy the a back end piece and have it cut out and replaced, or have someone bang it out and bondo it....? Thanks for the suggestions.. I appreciate it. Also cost is a factor for me too.. |

Re: Body Repair question
I think I would cut and replace it. its a 100 bucks for the part. its right on the wrap around crease, and its gonna be hard to get it decent if you try to bang it out. plus you don't want all that bondo. just my .02

Re: Body Repair question
Thats what I was thinking...
I thought I had seen the part for around 75 bucks..... I guess I would have to find a good shop to see what they would charge to cut and replace. Living close to Mexico, I know I can take it down there and get all the bondo I need for next to nothing. |

Re: Body Repair question
A good shop can pull that out faster than replacing it. You should also end up with about the same or less filler if done right. Metal has great memory combined with doing the metal bumping correctly it really is not to bad of a fix. Yes buy a new bumper. Keep in mind with dent repairs how much access you have to the back side. In this case it is almost wide open giving great access.

Re: Body Repair question
The area behind the bumper looks pretty jacked (might even be torn?). I'd personally go with the replacement section. But that's me. I'm better at cutting/welding than hammering. The entire new panel doesn't have to be used.

Re: Body Repair question
I am leaning towards the panel as the creases are pretty bad.
So does anyone have a good place to get a replacement panel? I appreciate it. Jeff |
