New guy here

Hi, I'm Jason. I'm from Trinity NC, currently stationed overseas in Germany. I have been into the 67-72 body style for as long as I can remember. My dad had a 67 longbed, sold it for a van just before a big trip to Florida and needed the room. So here I am about 12 years later and the bug has bit me, I have been lookin at all the cool trucks on here and it has bit me even harder and now I'm lookin for one. Got questions for you guys first though. I really want a short bed but I can settle for a LB, can I cut it down or shorten it? If the truck I get has a 350 how difficult is a 454 swap? What all is needed? Bolt patterns I'm still fuzzy on, is it 5x5 or 5x4.75 or are they something completely different? I know all too well of the rust areas with these trucks I remember helpin dad with his rockers and cab corners. Is there anything else I need to know or anyone willing to sell me a project Alright I guess I'll stop rambling and I look foward to hearing from some of you guys.

Welcome to the board from south Mississippi!
You'll get more answers if you post this on the truck message board. Check the FAQ index thread in my signature for FAQ's on shortening the bed and frame on a long bed.
