I will try to get in on the Spring '11 GB, also. Just to be certain, these tanks will fit a '66 LWB. I read this thread end to end, but I can't remember if I read that or not.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

I finally got my tank!!! It took over a month and a half, but it is finally here. Just a note to other future group buyers. Plan ahead, because they seem to get pretty backed up during the group buys. Mine took a little longer because Dave said that he overlooked my order. I'm a little disappointed because I requested 1/4" NPT fittings on my tank and it wasn't done, nor did I get a response to my E-mail requesting them. I thought that I may earn a special request since I was so patient with him overlooking my order, but I guess not. Other than that the tank looks great.

I did respond to your email right away. here is the email directly from my sent box on 10-11-10 at 9:32am

Jacob,

Your tank has already been finished and awaiting the EFI system to be installed. You should be able to purchase from any hardware store a 3/8 to 1/4 Reducer bushing.

Dave,

I know I just talked to you today, but I forgot one thing. Since you are building mine late, is there any way to ask for a special request? Rather than having 3/8" NPT fittings for the fuel in/out, can I have 1/4" NPT? I already bought 1/4" NPT fittings for my fuel lines because I swear I read a post from another member saying that you used 1/4" NPT on your tanks. If not, do you have any 90 degree 3/8" NPT to 1/4" NPT adapters available? Also, do you have any plugs for the "drain" on the EFI tank that you could throw in there?

Thanks, Jacob

Dave,

It says on the thread that all of the group buy tanks shipped yesterday and we should have all received tracking numbers. I didn't get one, so I just wanted confirmation that mine went out as well.

Thanks,

Hello, do you by chance still have the side fill non efi, and if so how much and is it still the discounted price? Will it work for efi external pump?

Thanks chris.

to anyone with one of these tanks completely installed, plumbed, etc.....thats "bed fill"....show us some pics of how you did the bed? Is there a door in one of the planks with the filler below...or did you flush mount something in the wood plank?

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Dave, has anyone adapted one of these into a 73-87? I might be interested in another EFI tank for my 78 soon.

Edit: NVM I scrolled up to post 332

Any mods to make it fit that frame? I see the mounting brackets are different.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Hey Dave, what kind price difference is there during the group buy? Is it the 10% you quoted above? I'm interested in a non-efi, 90 degree feeder w/ sending unit. Thanks

Also, my mechanical fuel pump will work fine, correct?

I know the group buy is on the way but the truck has the bed off right now and is on the lift while I am doing the disc swap. Now is just the perfect time to do this swap. Gonna call Monday and get one built or on the way.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

I have a question on the safety vent. Would the hose barb on the safety vent be used for the fill vent hose on a side fill? If I fill the tank and the fill hose gets full of fuel such that the fuel level is higher than the top of the tank does the fuel safety vent leak?

Will the fill vent hose connected to the safety vent hose barb allow air into the tank as the fuel gets used?

Also, my electric fuel level gauge came with a 200-34 ohm sender (i'm pretty sure I got that right). Would the price of my tank be less since I don't need the 0-90 ohm sender?

Anxiously awaiting the group buy!!

Mel
