Sorry we don't carry the regulators. The side fill is intended to fit between the frame and bed. There are no notches required.

Dave, I had to notch my frame rail for the filler neck to clear. The tank is mounted directly to the bottom of the frame. Did you guys change this or did I get a tank with a short neck? There is no way my tank filler neck would clear the frame. I can take some measurements when I get home later if that helps. Here are a few pics to show what I had to do. The notch plate is trimmed and welded in now but dont have a pic with the tank back in it. I am not complaining here, I love the tank but it was quite a surprise to find the filler neck would not clear. This is on my 67 C10 swb.

Thanks for showing me this. Every once and a while we run across someone with a frame that requires a notch and i cannot for the life of me figure out why. At one point in time we had an issue with the necks not being built to the proper height consistently so we made a fixture to ensure every neck is the same.

If you refer to Page 30 post #730 you will see this frame accepted the side fill without any issues.

If you look at Page 28 post #682 you will see this frame would not accept it on the bottom of the frame rail. He also noted that his frame was a 4x4

Is your frame a 4x4?

Is your frame a 4x4?

Details from your website:

Details
Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How Far down are the mounting tabs?
A: 3" down from the top of the tank

Q: How Tall is the fill neck? What is the Diameter of the pipe?

A: The fill neck is approx 3" tall. The pipe is 2" OD

Q: Are there Baffles in the Tank?
A: Yes, There are 3 baffles in the tank.

Q: What is the Roll Over Safety Vent? Do i need it?

A: The Rollover Safety Vent is a simple ball check valve device that will allow the tank to vent when in the normal operating position. In the event of an accident causing a rollover the ball will drop and block off the vent port so that fuel does not leak out. For safety I would always recommend purchasing the Rollover Safety vent option.
.

Thanks Dave, I see post 730 looks like it is higher than mine, post 682 is a local guy "Crash" and I follow his build. His truck was originally a long bed and cut down to SWB so that may be part of the reason, thinking the frame is taller as it goes forward toward the cab? I think maybe a cab swap also. A lot of unknowns there and of course there were many variations in these trucks.

My truck has matching Vin/Spid/partial frame Vin. It is an original 67 SWB V8 283 3ott.

I measured the frame rail where the tank attaches and it measure 4.25"
The tank flange mount surface to top of tank 3" (just as your specs above show)

The filler neck (bottom) is 1" from the top of tank, the filler neck top is 3" above the top of the tank.

Tank mounting 3" + filler bottom height 1"= 4" where the frame is 4.25" so the bottom edge of the filler neck is .25" below the top of the frame rail. I decided I needed .75" notch to give clearance for the filler hose.

The A1000 pic is bed fill but when you click add to cart you have the option to choose side fill or bed fill

thanks for providing support. I think (Bed Fill) in the title was a little misleading so i just deleted them from the title.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Ordered through the group Buy on Monday, Friday it arrived. Standard bed fill with rollover vent and sending unit. Nice clean well made product was very easy to install after removing the small diagonal brace. Nice to see a good product without creating additional hiccups.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Dave, I expect to receive my tank today or tomorrow. One question before I fill it with fuel, have you had or heard of any instances of Ethanol fuel causing corrosion inside the tank? If so, is there any preventive measures that should be taken? I do have access locally to non-Ethanol fuel, but you never know when travelling.

BTW, thanks for the Group Buy!
