driveshaft hook up....help

Hey all,
need a lil help with my 1983 k30 4x4 350

when i got the truck the driveshaft was in the bed and the guy said it had a bad u-joint. Well I think it was a lie, dude told me u-joint was good shape. I need to know what I am missing.

I have the driveshaft but the shifter inside the truck just moves freely, do I hookup the driveshaft and it will fix that? I am pondering my mind and reading online but can't find what I am looking for. Any help would be great.

If you are talking about putting shackles up front -- NO

Wait to your transfer case shifter just moves freely? Either your transfer case shifter is not hooked or something between the to things is broken! X2 no shackles up front!!

Re: driveshaft hook up....help

yeah these trucks came factory with shackles on the rea of the front springs. Alot of guys upgrade them for streanght. Offroad design makes a kit called HD shackles which are a 1/2 long and much thicker then stock..... However a shackle "lift" in the frint is not the best iddea. The b52 kit allows you to run your stock 52 inch rear springs in the front in place of your 3 leaf factory springs. This gains about 4 inch lift and allows for better flex then a lift spring. Your truck has 56 inch long rear springs if i remember right biut i beleave the kit has multiple holes to allow for the use of 56's
