made my day!!!

so as a few of you know I have been hunting for a diffrent rear end for my 77 long bed 2wd for some time now cause i did the wheel spin trick to find out what i had and kept coming up with extreme highway gears. Well I went out tonight and pulled the cover off and counted the ring and pinion and hoorah!!! 41 and 11 calculate that and its 3.73!! exactly what i was looking for lol had it the whole time. and turns out that I think I have a posi inut too. I included a pic let me know what Im looking at cause i really dont know. from the cover it looks like it has been very low on fluid for some time now and its had really heavy wight fluid in it wich i believe is wrong if it is a posi. Also there are alot of gouges and a dark spot were you can see it has been welded. theroy:PO blew the rear end up, welded the cover and replaced the unit. thanks all im very happy now.

Re: made my day!!!

that is the effect im looking for solid launch and death of a few tires. I have all this motor and have never experienced the power of it at the wheels. Between worn out and slipping tranny and the rear end not hooking like it should started to think I wasted alot of my hard earned green now that I have a new trans and realized what I have and possible reasons its didnt work right my spirit has been renewed.

Re: made my day!!!

Yeah for now! They're not exactly known to be the strongest. Once it starts just spinning one tire it's just a matter of time.

Re: made my day!!!

Oh well, you'll still have the correct gears to use if you blow up the gov-bomb and decide to get a stronger one.
