Can oil pump be changed with motor in truck? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

On a 84 2x4 with 305 engine can the oil pan be dropped to change out the oil pump with the engine in the truck? Does the motor have to lifted?

Any info is appreciated.

sure can did it in one i used to own, didnt have to lift the engine either...
